L’Oréal Infallible Total Cover Foundation

Hey my beauties!!

I was so excited when I saw this foundation at my local drugstore especially since they rarely have new products on the shelves for at least a couple of weeks after they launch. Of course I had to pick it up and try it for all of you.

I purchased this foundation for $11.99USD. On the website, it retails for $12.99 but drugstores have sales and you usually can find a coupon for L’Oréal products so you could purchase it for cheaper. Go figure that I knew I had a L’Oréal coupon at home but didn’t have it on me. There are 12 shades to choose from and I was a little worried when I picked up the shade 305 Natural Beige. Usually the shade Natural Beige is a little too pink for my skin tone but I really wanted to try this foundation so I figured I’d just work with it. Turns out, Natural Beige was perfect!

As you can see from the photo below, the consistency is on the thicker side. Although it is thick, it blends out beautifully. I’ve tested the foundation with both a brush and a beauty sponge and both work so well. The sponge does allow you to not have such an intense coverage although it still covers completely. The brush allows you to have complete full coverage so if that is what you are going for without wanting to use a lot of product, I would use a brush. The beauty sponge does cover great, don’t get me wrong, but if you want more coverage, you will need to use more product. I love the way that this foundation looks when using a sponge. I just apply a little more foundation in areas I want more coverage. Works great!

Now when using a thicker consistency foundation, sometimes they can be a little trickier to blend out and can look a bit thick and cakey on the face. I was so surprised that the first layer of foundation didn’t look too thick at all. Of course with a full coverage foundation, it’s going to fully cover your skin as that is its job so if you’re looking for a foundation that will give you more of a natural look, this foundation probably isn’t what you are looking for. I love full coverage foundations as I don’t have the best skin.

I chose not to color correct or use a concealer as I wanted to see how this foundation covered all on its own and again, I’m just so surprised. As you can see, it covers evenly and beautifully. Color correction and concealer aren’t absolutely necessary but if it’s part of your beauty routine, go for it. If you’re looking for a foundation that fully covers everything and you’re on a budget, I would definitely consider this foundation.

I have combination skin and my t-zone hates me. I tend to get fairly oily in my t-zone so I was a bit worried about how this foundation would perform in my oily areas. Completing the steps I take to help control my oil is all I needed to do and Total Cover didn’t make my skin any more oily than usual. So my oily skin beauties, you shouldn’t have any issues. If you have dry skin, I would just moisturizer per usual and you’ll be good to go. In my opinion, this is definitely great for all skin types.

What I loved most about this foundation is that I could get it to fully cover easily without it looking too heavy. If I wanted more coverage all over my entire face, I would just use a brush. If only in certain areas, I would use my beauty sponge and add a little extra foundation in areas I wanted a little more coverage.

I am still shocked that this is a drugstore foundation since it definitely performs like a high end foundation. Way to go, L’Oréal! You blew this foundation way out of the water! This is a foundation that I definitely will be keeping in my collection.

So if you’re looking for an affordable full coverage foundation, definitely pick this one up and give it a try!!
