ABH Modern Renaissance Palette

Hi friends,

I wanted to talk a little about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance since it definitely is one of my absolute favorite eye shadow palettes ever!  I have owned this palette since right before it was released since I did talk one of the Sephora employees at my local Sephora to sell it to me before it was out on shelves.  I’m very persuasive.  😉

Alright, let’s jump into my thoughts and opinions on this palette.
First, let’s just talk about how beautiful it looks!  I mean really?  We all know that Anastasia Beverly Hills is amazing in general but her packaging, it’s just so pretty.  The only thing I do not like about the material of the cover of this palette is it feels almost velvety like and it gets dirty really easily.  Now I’m sure that wouldn’t bother most people but when you have a touch of OCD, oh it bothers me.  But that’s ok, it’s easy to look past once you open this beauty.
I always love the fact that ABH always includes a mirror and a double-ended brush with all of her eye shadow palettes.  Honestly, the brush isn’t my favorite BUT it does get the job done and I’m sure if I wasn’t biased about my favorite brushes, I’d love the one that’s included.  I do hold onto the brush just in case.
The product itself, jeez are these shadows pigmented!   I wasn’t surprised at all being that it’s ABH.  I’m always so impressed with the pigmentation of her shadows.  They’re always so creamy, buttery, smooth, and easy to blend and that is EXACTLY how this palette is.  Now, I do want to touch base on fall out.  Yes, several of these shadows do have some fall out BUT that’s simply because red pigments tend to have more fall out in comparison to other colors.  I’m not a scientist, or whatever, so I’m not positive as to why this is but I have heard time and time again that red pigments are one of the most difficult pigments to work with and to create shadows with.  So yes, the more red tone shades in this palette do have some fall out so keep that in mind when doing your makeup.  I usually do my eyes first whenever using this palette so clean up is simple for me. Honestly, it’s not that big of a deal to me because the color pay off is more than worth it!  The shades are stunning!  I do have some absolute favorites from this palette and I would wear them every single day if I could.  Love Letter, Venetian Red, Burnt Orange, Realgar, and Vermeer are my absolute favorites!  I mean look at them!  They’re so beautiful!!
So now you ask if it’s worth the price…. 100% YES!  It is so worth the price!  ABH’s individual shadows run for $12.50 USD each and although the shadows in the palette are a bit smaller than the individual shadow pans, you’re still getting quite a bit of product for the price.  It is so worth it to me.  This palette is so worth it!  I am so glad that ABH made this a permanent palette rather than limited edition because I know I am going to have to re-purchase this palette.  So to answer the next question, this IS a permanent product!
Now go!  Go purchase this palette if you haven’t already!!  If you do own it, let me know what you think about it.  Is it your favorite, too??
