Makeup Geek

Hi beauties!

I’m sure so many of you have heard of Makeup Geek and probably own so many of their shadows but for those that haven’t, I wanted to do a blog post talking specifically about these shadows.  Makeup Geek has more to offer than just shadows but, if you follow YouTubers and beauty gurus on social media, you know that their shadows are kind of a big deal.  I definitely don’t own as many MUG shadows as I would love to but the ones I do own, I am absolutely in love with.

If you are new to MUG, I highly recommend purchasing their 9 Eyeshadow Starter Kit.  This kit is a combination of both matte and shimmer shadows which is perfect to create any eye look.  Here are the shades that are included in the starter kit.

Top row left to right: Shimma Shimma, Prom Night, Unexpected Middle row left to right: Glamorous, Creme Brulee, Cocoa Bear Bottom row left to right: Mocha, Drama Queen, Corrupt

This was taken from the Makeup Geek website.
Cocoa Bear –  Matte golden brown
Mocha – Matte Warm medium brown
Glamorous – Bronzy, shimmery gold
Creme Brulee – Medium sand color with a soft matte finish
Shimma Shimma – Shimmery highlight
Drama Queen – Densely dark purple with a shimmery finish
Prom Night – Pale purple with hints of grey and a shimmery finish.
Unexpected – Light and subtle pink matte purple blend
Corrupt – Intense matte black with small bit of sparkle

I don’t know how I did my makeup prior to owning both Creme Brulee and Cocoa Bear.  I use both of these shades just about every single time I do my eye makeup.  Shimma Shimma is also my go-to for my brow bone highlight.  It’s such a gorgeous shade.  Okay, basically you can’t go wrong with any of these shades and they are absolutely perfect if you’re new to Makeup Geek or are new to makeup in general.

These shadows are just individual pans so you will need to purchase the Z-palette separately.  They do have a Start kit & Z-palette bundle for $62 if you are interested in saving a little bit of money that way.  The Z-palette is smaller and fits all 9 shadows.  The good news is, they do sell Z-palettes on the MUG website so you won’t have to go searching on a different site for a palette.  I highly recommend purchasing a larger palette because I know you’ll fall in love with these shadows and will want to add more to your collection.

Now let’s talk pricing.  The starter kit is $50 BUT you are saving a little bit of money since these specific shadows are $6 a piece.  MUG does have some gorgeous foiled shadows, pigements, and duochrome shadows available and these are a little more expensive but so worth the price!  Really, you won’t be disappointed!

The color payout on each shadow is incredible.  They are so pigmented, so smooth and creamy, and blend out like a dream.  Like butter I tell ya…like butter! I am so impressed with this brand and purchase shadows from them whenever I can.

Go take a look at their website, purchase some shadows, and let me know what you think of them.  I promise you’ll fall in love!
