I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and an even better New Year’s!!
So today, I just had to blog about 2 new drugstore products I have tried and have fallen completely in love with!!
The first is the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Airbrush Finish foundation. The second is the Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art.
Let’s start with Revlon first.
So I heard about this product a couple of weeks ago and just kind of put it in the back of my mind. While at the drugstore, I passed by Revlon…pfft, who am I kidding, of course I went over to the makeup section “just to look”. So I passed by Revlon and they caught my eye. I quickly remembered a post I saw about them on, yes the Gram, so I decided to pick up each shade that they had in stock. I didn’t have the opportunity to really try them until the next day. Oh my gosh, friends! This stuff is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! On end you have a shadow and the other, glitter! I mean can you really go wrong with glitter? The shadow end is so pigmented and it looks more metallic which I love. Plus, it really made the glitter pop once I placed it on top of the shadow. This combo did last all day long but was so easy to remove. I’m honestly so impressed especially for the price and it being a drugstore product. Nothing against drugstore products but we all know they are so hit and miss. I paid $7.99 each for mine at my local Smith’s Marketplace. I want to go back and grab the other shades that they were out of. I’m in love!! So, so , so beautiful!!
Alright, now for the foundation.

And now for my thoughts and opinion.
LOVE! That’s all! Okay, seriously though, I am in love with this foundation! I picked it up at my drugstore on sale for $7.99 which, you know, I couldn’t pass it up at that price. The one thing I really love about this foundation is that it comes with a pump, Ohhh how I love foundations that come with a pump! The foundation itself isn’t runny at all and is a little more on the thick side. It isn’t ridiculously thick but it has a good consistency. Fair warning, a little goes a long way. The first time I used this foundation, I used way too much and had to start over. I used a buffing brush to apply this foundation rather then the blender they recommend. I don’t even know what that blender is nor did I know it even existed until I read it online. Using my buffing brush worked just fine and it distributed the foundation beautifully. The coverage of this foundation is awesome! If you have some problem areas, you may need to go over them a couple of times until you achieve your desired coverage but overall, it really covers well. Once I set the foundation, it really did look flawless…or airbrushed as they say. In fact, I really loved the way it looked. Because I do have combo skin, I always have to set my foundations especially in my t-zone.
The second time I applied this foundation, I used my beloved Beauty Blender. Now this is truly the way that I love to apply this particular foundation. Although my brush did a fab job, the Beauty Blender just took this foundation to an entirely different level! Holy shit! Airbrushed? YES! That’s exactly how my skin looked…aside from the few little friends I have on my face. Of course you can’t fully disguise those fellas BUT, the redness was completely covered. Love, love, LOVE the way the Beauty Blender applies this foundation.
The rest of my makeup applied beautifully on top of the foundation and I didn’t have any problems.
I wore this foundation for about 2 hours before looking in the mirror to see how it was holding up. Now, since I wasn’t wearing my usual primers since I wanted to truly see how this foundation held up on its own, I expected to see an oily mess when I looked in the mirror. Ummm nope! It still looked so beautiful. I did have a small amount of shine coming through but it looked more like a glow that just added to my look. After 5 hours of wearing this foundation, I went to check and see where we were at. At this point, I did need to do my usual blotting in my t-zone but after 5 hours of wear, I was impressed. 2-3 hours tops is what I’m used to. I ended up wearing this foundation for a total of 10 hours and creeping towards the 8th hour, I did need to blot and re-powder but not needing to actually touch up the foundation was pretty impressive. I only needed to use my mattifying pressed powder in my t-zone but I did expect that at some point.
One of my favorite things about this foundation, aside for the hecka amount of coverage you get, is the fact that even though it covers really well, I’m so glad you can’t feel the foundation sitting on your face. Medium to full coverage foundations definitely can be felt at times but with this foundation, nope! In fact, I just remembered that this is the foundation I used today and am wearing it as I type all of this out. It still looks beautiful and I applied it at about 11:ooam.
So, to wrap this up…I love this foundation!! Will I continue to use it and repurchase? You betcha! This is the foundation I will be using when I’m not in the mood for my all time favorite high end foundation. Hafta reserve that foundation since I have to order it online. Ha ha ha!
So happy I found another drugstore foundation that I love. It’s very rare for me to do so.
