Loreal Smooth Intense
I’ve been wanting to do this blog post for a little while now but wanted to give this line a fair chance before I went ahead and talked about it. The line that I’m talking about is the Loreal Smooth Intense hair care line. A little background. My hair has a natural frizzy wave to it that drives me nuts. It’s very thick as well which doesn’t work in my favor when it comes to the frizz. If I let my hair air dry without putting any product on it to help control the frizz, I just look like a walking frizzy puff ball. My oh so sweet hubby will look at me and ask me specifically if I’m planning on blow drying my hair. He means well…he just thinks it’s funny when I let my hair air dry. When I do let it air dry, I always end up pulling it up in a pony or in a clip because I just can’t stand it. It’s weird to say but I’m actually self conscious of the frizzy puff ball. So I’ve been using the shampoo, conditioner, and serum for the past couple of weeks and wanted to share my thoughts on it. I also purchased the Loreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray to use alongside this line.

Alright, let’s get into the review–my thoughts.
First, the smell! Oh the smell! I love hair care products that make my hair smell clean and fresh and this line definitely does that for me. Oh I love the smell. The very first time I used the shampoo, I wanted to stand there and lather my hair forever. I would use it completely based on the fragrance alone.
So the shampoo is like every other shampoo out there. It lathers very well and really gets my hair clean. It also doesn’t dry out my hair which is huge for me since I tend to get dry patches along my hairline if I’m not careful.
I really like the conditioner. It works wonders on my hair. Helps with the tangles and really makes my hair soft and silky. I always let it sit in my hair for a few minutes while I finish the rest of my shower and then I’ll rinse it out right before I get out. I don’t know if this makes a
difference but it seems to really help make my hair soft and silky when I do this. If I put it in my hair and rinse it out right away, I’ve noticed that my hair doesn’t feel quite as soft but it’s nothing extreme. I just like the way it feels when I leave it on for a longer amount of time.
The serum kind of feels sticky-like to me. I rub it in between my hands for a few seconds before putting it in my hair. I do apply it to towel-dried hair. I don’t apply it to or near my roots since I don’t want it to be greasy-like as some serums can cause this. I apply it all over from mid to ends and then comb through my hair and let it sit for about 10 minutes to really let the product soak in. I did find that you have to really make sure to evenly distribute it or you’ll end up with greasy-like patches throughout your hair. Combing it after applying really helps with this.
Now for the quick drying primer…I have noticed a huge difference in the amount of time I spend blow drying my hair. I do allow my hair to air dry as much as possible before I blow dry it so it usually takes me about 10 minutes to make sure that my hair is thoroughly dry but when I apply this primer, I blow dry for maybe 5 minutes and I’m good to go. No, I’m not exaggerating about that time whatsoever. I’m really impressed with how this primer works for me. Being that I do run a flat iron through my hair, I really try to limit how much heat I put on my hair prior so this primer is wonderful. It also smells like the shampoo and conditioner which makes me happy.
Okay so now what you all are wondering. Does it work? Does it do what it claims to do? YES! I have noticed a HUGE difference in my hair when using these products all in conjunction with each other. I did let me hair air dry after the 5th time I used these products to see what the
difference was and I was so impressed with the fact that my hair wasn’t nearly as frizzy and puffy when using the products compared to when I don’t. That really sold me. When I run my flat iron through my hair after blow drying, my hair is so soft and silky and straight without any frizz. As I continued to use these products, I really paid attention to see if it was just a fluke and only worked for the first few washes etc but nope, it has continued to really work for my hair. I am really picky about what products I use but I read some awesome reviews about this line so I figured I’ d give it a try. This is huge being that I’m a “It’s a 10” girl.
So to wrap this up, if you are on a budget and are looking for a drugstore hair care line for frizz, I really think you should give this a try. It worked wonderfully for me and again, that fragrance…it’s so worth it. Ha ha!
Let me know if you’ve tried this line and tell me what you thought.
