May Ipsy Glam Bag

Hey babes!

My blog posts are lacking…I know.  I got really sick with the flu and was in bed for almost a week.  It was AWFUL!  I swear I picked it up from the pediatrician’s office, but that’s a different story that we won’t get in to.

So let’s talk about my May Ipsy bag.  I am really loving what I received and I think this month’s bag is ADORABLE!  Here is what I got in my Ipsy bag.

Since May is almost over and I’ve had a good chance to play around with the product I’ve received, I’m just going to dive into my thoughts on each product.  I’m going to list each product individually and tell you the description of each product via the Ipsy website and then I’ll dive into my personal thoughts and opinions.  Let’s get started.

Alterna Hair Care Caviar CC Cream: Received a trial size.  Full size retails for $25

This multi-tasking miracle product provides 10 benefits in 1, simplifying your styling routine. Infused Caviar Extract & Vitamin C to smooth, add shine and help protect from free radical damage. Leaves your hair with moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, UV protection, manageability, strength, anti-breakage, heat protection, and a light hold.

Can be used alone or as a foundation for the layering of other styling products.

Alright, so I have never heard of a CC Cream for your hair.  Obviously we have all heard of a CC Cream for your face but for your hair?  That threw me off.  Clearly I don’t know TOO much about hair care products aside from what I use on a regular basis.  I was a little iffy about trying this product since I didn’t really know much about this type of product but the fact that it says it smooths, adds shine, and protects your hair, I figured I’d give it  a try.  It smells really nice but I found the consistency to feel a little sticky so it was interesting putting it onto my hair.  I put it on towel dried hair and let it sit for about 10 minutes before blow drying and styling my hair.  Personally, I didn’t notice too big of a difference but it made my hair smell really good and it did seem a little more shiny than normal.  Other than that, it was just okay for me.  Nothing to make me jump right up and order it as a must have hair care item.  I have used most of the trial size since I do love the way that it smells.  Once it’s gone, I won’t be purchasing a full size bottle.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil plus bonus Revolution High-Color Lipgloss: Received a trial size of the pencil and a sample size of 2 lipgloss shades (Failbait & Bittersweet).
Full size pencil retails for $20 and the lipgloss for $22

Get primed and ready for action. Urban Decay’s long-lasting, waterproof liner glides on smoothly to prime AND define—for long-lasting lip color and clean lines. Smooch. Pout. Smack. Nibble. Lick. 24/7 stays put through everything (yes, EVERYTHING) you do. When you use this liner to fill in your lips completely, it primes them for lipstick or gloss, grabbing on to color to help it last.

Next, finish the bad girl beautiful look with a sample of Urban Decay’s brand new Revolution High-Color Lipgloss—insanely intense color with high shine. The high-coverage, ultra-pigmented formula lays down all the color you crave in one coat.

This lippie is also laced with Hilurlip™, which defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller.

Who doesn’t love Urban Decay?  I mean seriously?  I know I LOVE Urban Decay and I love most of their products.  If I’m being completely honest here, I do not understand this lip pencil since the shade I received was clear and it was supposed to act more like a primer than anything.  I didn’t notice a difference at all when I used it.  As for the consistency of the product, I loved it!  It made me want to purchase a lip pencil in a different shade.  I personally think the consistency of the lip pencil is worth the price but that’s just me.  You would have to try it to feel the difference between the UD pencils and all the rest out there on the market.  As for the lipgloss, eh.  It’s okay.  It’s not sticky like most glosses tend to be which is fabulous but the shade that I tried (Failbait)  was really lacking in pigmentation.  I may swatch the other shade but I won’t be wearing it.  It’s a shade of purple that I’m just not into nor would it look good on me.  It’s a little too out there for my personal taste.

BellaPierre Cosmetics Waterproof Mineral Gel Eyeliner in Ebony: Received a full size eyeliner (yay) and it retails for $14.99

This super creamy mineral gel eyeliner formula provides effortlessly smooth application and intense pigment for amazing coverage and all day wear. Plus it’s waterproof so you’ll definitely be smudge-free!

Oh! My! GOSH!  I LOVE this eyeliner!  I love everything about this eyeliner.  It is so creamy, so pigmented, glides on beautifully, and the best thing about it is the fact that it lasts ALL day on my waterline.  This stuff stays put!  I swatched it on the back of my hand when I received it and tried to wipe it off with my fingers immediately after and it smudged a tiny bit but then it didn’t move.  Nothing.  The only reason why it smudged is because I didn’t let it set and smudged it immediately after application.  It’s so pigmented which makes me so happy.  This eyeliner has already been purchased since I want a back up since I use this eyeliner on a daily basis.  I LOVE it!  LOVE IT!

Peter Lamas Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser: Received a trial size tube.  Full size retails for $24

This Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser invigorates skin with a potent fusion of natural ingredients. A purifying blend of Chamomile, Coconut and Alba Bark combine to create a rich lather that locks-in moisture while Wheat Protein smoothes and strengthens skin. Vitamin C and Beta Carotene work to detoxify, protect and energize, giving you softer, younger-looking skin.

• 100% Vegan.

• Paraben-free.

• Sulfate-free

First, I love the smell of this cleanser.  It makes me want to run to my kitchen and grab a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice each time I use it.  I’m very impressed with how well it cleanses my skin without over-drying it.  It lathers nicely and it honestly gets rid of all traces of my makeup.  I use an eye makeup remover prior to washing my face so I don’t know how it works as far as removing eye makeup goes but it gets rid of my face makeup wonderfully.  I haven’t decided if I want to purchase a full size tube of this cleanser and use it as a makeup remover prior to using my regular face wash.  I’m really on the fence because I love the way this makes my skin feel and I love that it thoroughly removes my makeup.  I’m definitely torn with this one as far as purchasing it goes.  Ha!  I just picked up the tube and was reading what it said and it says it can also be used as a body wash.  Maybe I should just purchase it for that since I love the smell.

And last….

Pixi by Petra Beauty Bronzer in the shade Summertime: On the direct Pixi website, it says the full size bronzer is 0.36 oz and I received one that is 0.16 oz which is still a decent amount.  I thought it was full size.  Full size retails for $18 and comes with a kabuki brush.  Score!

This deluxe bronzing powder gives your complexion the warmth and luminosity of naturally sun-kissed skin. Hydrating, silky-smooth & long-wearing, it also contains Vitamin E to protect skin against free radicals

I love the Pixi brand.  They sell their products at Target and I purchase them often.  Plus, if you use your RedCard, you get that discount.  Gotta love that.  This is the first time I have used a bronzer by this brand and I’m actually very impressed.  I kind of wish they had a slightly deeper shade but Summertime is their deepest shade in this bronzer and it still works beautifully for my skin tone.  I do feel like it gives me an overall healthy looking bronzy glow and when I add a highlight to the tops of my cheekbones, I have a beautiful summer bronzy glow all around.  The formula is wonderful.  It isn’t chalky at all and applies beautifully.  It’s easy to blend and I have found it applies best with a synthetic brush as opposed to a natural hair brush.  I use an angled brush by Luxie (received in a past Ipsy bag) and brush it on my cheeks where my contour goes, where the sun would naturally hit me on my forehead, and anywhere else I want a sun-kissed look.  I love this bronzer!  Oh!  It’s not a matte bronzer so it’s not one you would use for contouring but one you would use just to give you that bronzy glow.

So that’s it!  That’s what I received in my Ipsy bag this month.  What did you receive in yours?  What were your favorite products?  Ipsy is only $10 a month (free shipping) and if you’re interested in subscribing, go ahead and click here to do so.  ❤
