Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

Hello beauties!!
I know I tend to post quite a few drugstore finds but as a mommy, I have a tendency to spend money on my kids rather than myself so I’m always looking for a good deal that doesn’t skimp on quality. Foundations are something that I am really trying to find a good quality product but it’s been a tough one.  The thing I think drugstore foundations are lacking on for sure are the shade ranges.  I have yellowish undertones and drugstore foundations tend to be a little more on the pinkish side and it frustrates me.  Loreal recently came out with a new foundation that I have been wanting to get my hands on to try but I just couldn’t find my shade.  I finally found a shade that I thought would work and of course, they didn’t have one in stock.  After searching high and low, I finally found it at Smith’s Marketplace.  Phew!  I’ve heard some pretty awesome things about this foundation so I was really excited to try it.  The foundation is the Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation.  I’m going to post what it says on the website and then I’ll give you all my thoughts.

$12.99 retail

Alright, now for my thoughts.  First, I didn’t get mine for $12.99 since Smith’s had it on sale. I paid about $10 for mine.  You definitely can look at your local drugstores and see if you can find this foundation for a little cheaper in price.  $12.99 isn’t all that bad for a good drugstore foundation though.

The product is in a squeeze tube which doesn’t necessarily bother me but I do prefer a pump over a tube any day.  You get 1 fl oz of product which seems to be the norm for foundation.  When I first initially put some of the foundation onto my palette, I was afraid that it was going to be too dark for me so I was a little nervous.  It’s not a thick or heavy foundation nor is it really runny.  It’s a good consistency for sure.  It doesn’t really have a scent although, it kind of reminds me of paint but without the strong paint scent.  I don’t know if that makes sense.  It’s nothing terrible.  I used a flat top kabuki brush to apply, blend, and buff this foundation into my skin.  Holy wow!  This stuff is pigmented!  That was the first thing that impressed me!  After blending and buffing it into my skin, the color match wasn’t too bad.  I could work with it for sure.  The foundation blends out beautifully and looks really light and flawless on the skin although it really covers well.   I recently had a facial done and my skin definitely released the toxins so my face kind of looks like a war zone for the time being and the foundation covered everything beautifully.  I was surprised that I didn’t need a color corrector for the red on my skin.  Impressive!  I didn’t feel like I needed to use a concealer under my eyes either which I usually do.  The foundation immediately felt dry on my skin and I almost didn’t use a powder to set it but went ahead and did so anyway, but only in my t-zone where I tend to get really oily IMG_0932throughout the day.  Oh, and when I say it immediately felt dry on my skin, I don’t mean this in a bad way.  I just didn’t need to wait for the foundation to set and dry on my skin like we all sometimes have to do with other foundations.  My skin felt silky  and really did look flawless.  The rest of my face makeup applied wonderfully and sat really well on top of the foundation.  So far so good with this product.

4 hours into wearing the foundation and my skin looked glowy but not in a bad way.  The shine in my t-zone was at a minimum and my skin just looked beautiful which really surprised me.  I didn’t feel like I needed to touch my makeup up at all nor did I feel like I needed to blot my face like I usually do about 4-5 hours into wearing a foundation.

10 hours into wearing the foundation and right before I removed my makeup, I took a really good look at my face to see where we were at and I was actually really surprised at how well my face still looked.  I was a bit shiny in my t-zone and if I was going to continue wearing makeup, I probably would have needed to blot and touch up a little but hey, after 10 hours,  that isn’t bad.

So overall, I am very impressed with this foundation especially for the price and it coming from a drugstore (not that that is a bad thing).  Would I buy this foundation again?  Absolutely!  In fact, I have been wearing this foundation every day since I purchased it.  This Infallible line also has  aIMG_0943 powder and a finishing spray that I want to try in conjunction to this foundation and see how all three of the products work together.  In fact, I now want to try every single product in this Infallible line.  The shadows and lip colors look amazing!

**Remember, I do not use a primer when testing out a new foundation so I can really get a feel for what the product is like.

So my beauties…tell me…have you tried this foundation?  What did you think of it?
